About this Dashboard
This dashboard shows coronavirus disease (COVID-19) data for South Africa, broken down by province, and compared against official stats from other countries.

We draw data from official data sources, and the data is updated daily.

Primary sources include: gov.za, westerncape.gov.za, sacoronavirus.co.za (COVID data), google.com (exchange rates), resbank.co.za (repo rates), statssa.gov.za (population sizes), and nicd.ac.za (gender and age distributions).

Data sourced for the Western Cape dashboard is based on WC provincial data published separate to national statistics. Timing/reporting differences between WC and national government may result in slight differences in totals.
Support our developers
Our team has developed this public resource since COVID-19 hit in March 2020. Data screening is supported by Enterprise licensing, but the visualizations are a gift to the public.

We strive to keep this site advert-free. If you are in a position to assist us financially, your donation will go to good use developing new features!

What can you do to help? Well, a coffee costs R30. A beer and a meal costs R120. An hour of visualization development costs R750. A new chart costs approximately R2,000.
